College Football Picks: Week 7

Hey everyone,

Time for another round of college football picks. This should be an exciting Saturday with many, many high profile matchups. Coming off our first losing weekend (2-4), we started this week strong with a Thursday night play, taking the over in Colorado State/Texas State. It nearly sailed over the total by halftime, with a stunning live line of 103! That win brings our season record on official plays to 11-6. Let's keep building that momentum today! As always, feel free to give a quick like, which is super helpful, and also post your own picks in the comments. Let's get to it:

Ohio State at Indiana: Under 51.5 (12pm ET) I bought a point to get this up slightly from 50.5 (at -132). OSU and Indiana are two of the very best defenses in the nation. Each squad knows this game could have major playoff seeding implications down the road and I don't think either side will be taking needless chances with the football. Last year when they met in Columbus, the final score was 13-10. While I expect more points here, I think this game moves at a methodical pace, and neither team has allowed more than 24 points in any game this season.

Missouri at Ole Miss: Ole Miss Team Total Over 31.5 (3:30pm ET) I thought long and hard about the game total over as well (58.5). But I like Ole Miss here, as they want to play themselves into national conversation. They already have compiled notable wins over Vanderbilt, LSU (major points there), and Louisville. The only time they've failed to get over this number was on the road at Florida, where they still put up 28. I think they put up at least 17-21 by half-time and get into the high 30s from there. Note: I considered buying the extra point to get them a win at 31 points, but Vegas knows better, and juiced that key number to a borderline unplayable -148.

Akron at Miami (OH): Miami (OH) Team Total Over 27.5 (3:30pm ET) Not the biggest game on the board by a longshot, but I think there is real value here. Akron is 1-5, having lost four straight, and has given up 38, 41, and 41 points in their three road games. While Miami (OH) is not an offensive powerhouse by any means, the Zips defense is just awful. I think Miami (OH) runs away with this one.

Oklahoma State at Houston: Houston -4.5 (7:30pm ET) The Cougars have won by double digits in every win so far this season, bringing their record to a surprising 5-1. Tonight, they return home against an Oklahoma State squad that has also surpassed expectations. While I expect a competitive game, I think Houston gets up by a couple of scores in the fourth. Another way to play this would be to include Houston in whatever moneyline parlay you like this weekend.

Nebraska at Oregon: Oregon -6.5 (11pm ET) At 3-2, the Ducks know this is do or die time. They are coming off a somewhat flukey loss against UCLA, in which they turned the ball over seemingly every five minutes. It was ugly, but I think they bounce back in the late-night game. I was surprised to see a playable line under a touchdown. Nebraska is solid this year, coming off a tough loss at Indiana after facing subpar competition throughout the first month of the season. This is a get right spot for Oregon.

Bonus Moneyline Parlay #1: Odds at +137 Northwestern at Michigan State: Northwestern ML (12pm ET) Rutgers at Maryland: Maryland ML (12:30pm ET) Wake Forest at Cal: Wake Forest ML (10:30pm ET)

  • I considered a few heavy favorites here, including LSU, Texas, Georgia, Miami, and Notre Dame, but none helped our odds much. If you want to get heavier plus money, consider taking Wisconsin on the road at UCLA in a game that is inching closer towards being a pick 'em.

Bonus Alt Over Parlay #2: Nearly even money (-102) UNLV vs Airforce: Over 40.5 (3:30pm ET) Louisville vs Syracuse: Over 50.5 (7:30pm ET)

Enjoy the weekend!

Zach
