College Football Picks: Week 6
We're back for week 6 in college football!!!
I'm very excited as we are coming off a 4-0 sweep last weekend. This brings our current record through two weeks to 8-2.
This weekend presents a fun slate, and I'll be giving out a few extra picks. Let's get right to it.
North Carolina at Pittsburgh: Over 46.5 (12pm ET) A number of plausible final scores (24-23, 27-20, 30-17) get us over this modest total. Expect UNC and Pittsburgh to get over 50.
Ball State at Northwestern: Northwestern TT O 44.5 (12:30pm ET) Ball State has already given up 51 and 56 points so far this season. Now on the road in Evanston, I think Northwestern dominates the full 60 minutes.
UCLA at Oregon: Oregon -9.5 (3:30pm ET) I'm laying a little juice (-128) to get this line under 10 (currently sits at 10.5). But even with Oregon forced to go to their backup quarterback this week, I see them winning by at least two touchdowns. I also like the game total to go Over 57.5. If you love parlays, consider buying Oregon down to -6.5 and the total down to 50.5 at plus money odds (+102).
Maryland at Ohio State: Over 56.5 (4:15pm ET) OSU will do the heavy lifting here and I considered their team total. But I think the Terps contribute a couple of scores as well.
LSU at Kentucky: LSU -8.5 (7pm ET) Kentucky is coming off a crazy overtime win at South Carolina. Even with the Wildcats returning home, I think LSU takes charge by the second quarter. I also like the LSU team total over a very reasonable 30.5 points.
ALT. Total Parlay (+138) Leg 1 - Texas A&M at Missouri (12pm ET): Over 44.5 (bought down from 49.5) Leg 2 - Stanford at Notre Dame (3:30pm ET), Notre Dame Team Total Over 36.5 (bought down from 46.5) Leg 3 - Virginia Tech at Cal: (3:30pm ET) Virginia Tech Team Total Over O 26.5 (bought down from 31.5)
Bonus Leans:
South Carolina at Florida: Florida Team Total Over 36.5 (12:45pm ET) The Gators are coming off an ugly loss, their first, at Missouri in week 5. Now returning home, I think they crush. The USC defense looks vulnerable and has given up a ton of points the last few weeks. The only variable that kept this off the board was a rough weather forecast. I also considered just taking Florida -10.5, as tough conditions could drive down the total. But I would check this one closer to game time before deciding.
Wake Forest at North Carolina State: North Carolina State +3.5 (12pm ET) The Demon Deacons just destroyed Stanford by 54. I think they come down to earth on the road. However, like with SC/FLA, the rain scared me off from adding this as an official play. But I like taking home underdogs and really like getting more than a field goal with NC State in Raleigh.
Hawaii at Arizona State O 50.5 (10:30pm ET) ASU games have gone over this total in 4 of 5 games so far. Hawaii adds just enough to get us over the number
Good luck!
